The Interior Design Minor offers an introduction and practice in the materials and methods, design processes and communication tools (drafting, modeling, rendering and fabrication) utilized in the design of spaces within buildings一道本不卡免费高清, i.e. interiors. In Studio 1, students first learn to consider human occupation of and movement through forms and spaces. They learn how to design and describe three-dimensional spaces in technical drawings and models, both physical and digital (using AutoCAD and Rhinoceros software). Technologies + Ecologies II: Interior Technologies presents the materials and methods of interior construction, which are considered in the design of two interior spaces in Studio III. Interior design minors will be assigned a desk in the A/L/I studios during semesters of enrollment in an A/L/I course(s).
The Interiors minor is open to Digital Media and Fine Arts majors. Communication Arts, Product Design and Toy Design majors are eligible on a case-by-case basis, with approval from their respective Department Chairs, and may require course approvals and/or additional credits over 130 to complete.
